June 1
Boat travel day. We saw sea lions on a buoy and many sea lions sunning themselves on rocks.
We visited a no-name waterfall. And took many photos and videos
Spent a lot of time reading my book Persepolis Rising.
Next, we traveled to Baranof Springs, a very small fishing village of summer cabins and small pleasure fishing boats.
The area has a small cove that can only be entered at high tide. We took the skiff and motored around sightseeing. I have a picture of the cove entrance at low tide.
The town is right next to a huge waterfall. So much power and water.
We took a hike up to the hot springs and lake. Crawling over tree roots and bouldering up rocks. It was more difficult than I expected. Hiked with Heather while Nancy hiked with her kids. They went to the hot springs first and Heather and I hiked to the lake first.
Heather and I met a young man from Vancouver Island, B.C. He had just come from the hot springs and hiked to the lake to cool off. He dove right in. Yes, the lake water is very cold.
Both Brinkley and Bryan went all the way in. Brinkley even dunked her head.
