June 3

Six hour travel day.

We entered Security Bay and saw many sea otters.

We saw a few sea otters swimming on their backs, some with their pup on their stomachs.  Some look like they are sleeping as they float along.

Frederick Sound we saw many Orcas (killer whales) of the porpoise family. The orca or killer whale is a toothed whale belonging to the oceanic dolphin family, of which it is the largest member. They swam close to our boat, females and their pups. The female has a curved dorsal fin. Males have a straight dorsal fin.

Next, we will go to see the sea lions. They are barking and braying.

Then we put in for the night at Berners Bay. The water was very calm so captain suggested water sports. Heather and Nancy kayaked and Brinkley stood up on the paddle board. I read my book. Later, Bryan and I enjoyed the hot tub.
